Missing Marine in Hawaii Found Deceased
April 20, 2017 — MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER, Okinawa, Japan – Pfc. Tyler Wechsler, a Marine with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367 (HMLA-367), Marine Aircraft Group 24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, was found deceased by the Honolulu Police Department on a hiking trail 18 April.

Nicholson (Okinawa Area Coordinator) with Mr. Joel Ehrendreich (U.S. Consulate General, Naha) invite media representatives to view the new U.S. military forces Okinawa orientation training and participate in a meeting to discuss and answer questions on a variety of topics, March 8 on Camp Foster, Okinawa, at 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

January 18, 2017 — MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan – F-35B Lightning II aircraft, belonging to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121, Marine Aircraft Group 12, arrived at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni January 18, beginning the squadron’s permanent basing at the air station.
Okinawa-based Marines to be recognized by Yokosuka Mayor
January 16, 2017 — MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER, Okinawa, Japan- Mayor Yuto Yoshida, City of Yokosuka, is scheduled to personally recognize four U.S. Marines, two U.S. Sailors and a local resident Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Yokosuka City Hall, for their instinctive response and heroic actions to recover a family whose vehicle fell from the fifth story of a parking garage in Ogawa-cho, Yokosuka, Dec. 31, 2016.
Deceased Marine pilot identified
December 9, 2016 — Captain James E. Frederick, who ejected from a Marine F/A-18 on Dec. 7, was pronounced deceased after his body was found during search and rescue operations.
Frederick, 32, of Corpus Christi, Texas, served as an F/A-18 pilot with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115, Marine Aircraft Group 31, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, and deployed to III Marine Expeditionary Force out of Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan.
