Major Antony Alexander

Executive Officer, 7th Communication Battalion

Major Antony Alexander graduated from Michigan State University in 1998 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English. He went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corps, and graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.

Following Boot Camp and MCT, PFC Alexander completed Personnel Administration School at Camp Johnson, North Carolina. In 1999, PFC Alexander was reassigned to Headquarters Marine Corps, Manpower and Reserve Affairs. Lance Corporal Alexander was selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 2000, and earned his commission as a second lieutenant.

Following The Basic School, he attended the Basic Communications Officer Course, in Quantico, Virginia. Lieutenant Alexander was then assigned as the Deputy Operations Officer, Assistant Chief of Staff G-6, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia.  He also served as the G-6 Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Officer, and the Officer-In-Charge of the DMS Control Center.

In 2004, Lieutenant Alexander was assigned to Recruiting Station Detroit, Michigan, where he served as the Operations Officer, and then as the Executive Officer.

In 2007, Captain Alexander was reassigned to 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California. During this time he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he served as Regimental Combat Team One’s S-6 Operations Officer, and the Regimental Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Officer. Post deployment, Captain Alexander was assigned to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, where he served as the Battalion S-6. He served in this capacity for nine months before transferring to Headquarters Battalion, First Marine Division where he served as Commanding Officer, Communications Company.

After graduating Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School, and the Advanced Communications Officer Course, Captain Alexander was assigned to Expeditionary Strike Group 7, Amphibious Task Force Seventh Fleet, Okinawa, Japan, where he served as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for C4I, N-6, and as the Amphibious Communications Planner.

Following his tour in Okinawa, Major Alexander was reassigned to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego where he served as the Deputy Assist Chief of Staff for Communications, G-6, and then the Operations Officer for Enlisted Recruiting, Western Recruiting Region. Maj Alexander was assigned to his current billet as the Executive Officer, 7th Communication Battalion, in July 2015.

Major Alexander is a distinguished graduate of the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Distance Education Program.
