Lieutenant Colonel Thomas B. McGee
 

LtCol McGee a native of Boston, Massachusetts graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in economics. He reported to Officer Candidates' Course in October 1998. He was commissioned a 2ndLt on December 11, 1998 and reported to The Basic School the following month. He graduated in July 1999 and subsequently reported to Communication Information Systems Officers Course.

In March 2000, he reported to Communications Company, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA where he served as the Radio Platoon Commander. He was promoted to 1stLt on December 11, 2000 before being transferred to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion in June 2001.

At 1st LAR Battalion, he served as the S-6, Communications Platoon Commander. He deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he was promoted to Captain on April 1, 2003.

In July 2003 he reported to the Marine Corps Detachment, Newport, Rhode Island where he served as the Executive Officer before assuming duties as the Marine Corps Amphibious Projects Officer at the Navy Warfare Development. In June 2005 Captain McGee graduated from the Command and Staff College at the US Naval War College and receiving a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies with a concentration in South Asia. He subsequently assumed duties as a Company Officer and Assistant Battalion Officer at the Naval Academy Preparatory School.

In August 2006, he reported to the Expeditionary Warfare School for Intermediate Level School concurrently attending Advanced Communication Officers Course and completing both in May 2007.

Captain McGee reported to 8th Marine Regiment, 2D Marine Division, Camp LeJeune, NC in July 2007 serving as the Regimental Communications Officer. He deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq in support Operation Iraqi Freedom '09 with Regimental Combat Team 8, Multi-National Force West.

In May of 2010, Major McGee assumed duties as the Commanding Officer of Recruiting Station Kansas City, 9th Marine Corps District. Upon completion of recruiting duty in June 2013, Major McGee reported to the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, completing the strategic studies planner curriculum with a focus in Asia Pacific Studies and graduating in June of 2014.

Major McGee Reported to Headquarters, 2D Marine Logistics Group in July 2014. While at 2D MLG, Major McGee was promoted to his current rank and served as the AC/S G-6 Operations Officer, Deputy G-6, and G-6.

His Personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Achievement Medal and Combat Action Ribbon.

LtCol McGee has been married for 16 years; he and his wife have two children.
