Service Company Commanding Officer
Major Frazier enlisted in the Marine Corps in spring of 1987 and began boot camp at MCRD Parris Island on August 19, 1987. Upon completion of boot camp he attended the Marine Corps Communication Electronics School in 29 Palms, CA and after a year of study achieved the military occupational specialty of 2841, Ground Communications Electronics Repairer. He assigned in that capacity from 1988 to 1991 with Marine Wing Communications Squadron-18, where he participated in numerous exercises through Japan, Korea and the Philippines.
In May of 1991 he was assigned to 1st Low Altitude Defense Battalion where he served for a year before being promoted to Sergeant and transferred to Marine Corps Communication Electronics School for instructor duty. While in 29 Palms, then-Sergeant Frazier was selected to attend the Marine Corps pilot course for AN/TRC-170 technicians, upon completion of which he returned to the fleet, for duty with 7th Communications Battalion.
While at 7th Comm Bn, Major Frazier served in numerous billets including from Super High Frequency Section Head, S&R Chief, CMS Custodian, Service Company Gunnery Sergeant, and Detachment Commander for numerous exercises in Korea and Australia. In July 1999 he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and selected to serve at Marine Barracks 8th & I, for duty at Marine Corps Institute Company as the course writer for 28XX, 06XX and 02XX distance courseware. While at 8th & I he was selected for Warrant Officer and upon completion of The Basic School in summer f 2001, he returned to the fleet for duty at 3d Intelligence Battalion.
After three years at 3d Intel Bn as the Systems Support Platoon Commander and Battalion S4, then-Chief Warrant Officer Frazier transferred to Marine Air Control Squadron-4 where he served for one year as the Communications Maintenance Officer. In summer of 2005, he transferred to 3d Electronic Maintenance Company (ELMACO) where he served as company XO and Maintenance Management Officer; in August of 2006 he was promoted to Captain and transferred to Combat Logistics Battalion-4 for duty as the Maintenance Company Commander and to prepare for deployment to Iraq. Upon return from Iraq in spring of 2008, he transferred to Camp Lejeune for duty as 2d ELMACO XO and Maintenance Management Officer.
In January 2009, while at Camp Lejeune, then-Captain Frazier was selected for duty as 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade SSEC, participating in the forming and preparation of this contingent of 11,000 Marines, Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen for duty in Afghanistan. After 12-months in Helmand Province, Captain Frazier returned to Camp Lejeune and was shortly thereafter posted as 2d ELMACO Company Commander until returning to Okinawa in the summer of 2011 for duty as Company Commander of 3d ELMACO. He was promoted to his current rank in July of 2012 and handed over the reins of 3d ELMACO the following month.
Major Frazier’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
