Alpha Company Commanding Officer
Captain Sisson, a native of Quantico, Virginia, graduated summa cum laude from Emory & Henry College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. Captain Sisson then attended the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and graduated in 2003 with a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Science.
Captain Sisson was commissioned in March 2005. He then attended The Basic School and graduated in October 2005 after being designated a 0602 Communications Officer. Captain Sisson attended the Basic Communications Officer Course and graduated as the class honor graduate in June 2006.
Upon graduation, he reported for duty to 8th Marines serving as the Assistant Communications Officer from July 2006 to October 2006. Captain Sisson was subsequently assigned to 3d Battalion, 8th Marines from November 2006 to July 2009 and served as the Battalion Communications Officer. During this tour with 3d Battalion, 8th Marines, Captain Sisson completed a six month deployment with the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit and an eight month deployment with the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force – Afghanistan.
In July 2009 Captain Sisson received orders to Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC. He served as the Company Commander, Co B, Headquarters and Support Battalion from July 2009 to July 2011.
Captain Sisson was selected to attend the Expeditionary Warfare School from August 2011 to May 2012. In conjunction with the Expeditionary Warfare School, Captain Sisson attended the Advanced Communications Officer Course, completing the course as a distinguished graduate. Upon graduation in May 2012, Captain Sisson reported for duty to 7th Communication Battalion.
Captain Sisson served as the 7th Communication Battalion Assistant Battalion Operations Officer from June 2012 to August 2012. During this time period, he served as the Officer-in-Charge for the USS Blue Ridge detachment in support of exercise Ulchi Freedom Guardian - 12. In September 2012 Captain Sisson was reassigned to serve as the Executive Officer, Co A, and he served as the Officer-in-Charge of the Key Resolve - 13 detachment. Captain Sisson assumed command of Co A in May 2013.
Captain Sisson’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with gold star). Captain Sisson is married and has one son.
