While the Air Force is actively looking for a community to host Air Force Cyber Command's headquarters, it knows which Air Force Reserve Command units will align with AFCYBER.

According to an Air Force press release, Air Force Reserve units will provide the following support when mobilized:

Installation communications, deployed communications, and communications and information functions - 35th Combat Communications Squadron, Tinker AFB, Okla., and 55th CBCS, Robins AFB

The 380th Space Control Squadron, a reserve associate unit at Peterson AFB, will support Air Force Space Command operations.

AFCYBER will officially stand up Oct. 1. In the meantime, Barksdale AFB is serving as the interim headquarters location.

Air Force officials are expected to announce a short list of headquarters finalists by the end of 2008 and select a location by September 2009. (Air Force Reserve Command News Service)
