Thirty-five local children from Sapang Bato Elementary School visited Clark Air Base during Exercise Balikatan, April 6, 2019 to meet U.S. Airmen and Marines and learn about their jobs. Children saw various aircraft and military equipment and received school supplies. Balikatan is a Tagalog phrase meaning “shoulder-to-shoulder,” which characterizes the spirit of the exercise and represents the partnership between the U.S. and the Philippines. HMLA-469, or "Vengeance", has flown 54 flight hours, delivering 68,307 pounds of food and shelter supplies to the rural areas of Nepal since their arrival on May 3. The government of Nepal declared a state of emergency and requested international assistance after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck their country April 25. The U.S. military responded, bringing their aircraft to support the Nepalese government. They will continue to support Nepal as needed with the United States Agency for International Development as part of Joint Task Force 505. U.S. Marines and Nepalese soldiers deliver 4,000 pounds of supplies to include food, hygiene kits, and shelter from Kathmandu, Nepal to areas effected by the earthquake May 7 to support the international humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operation after the country was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. The Nepalese government requested the U.S. government’s help after the earthquake. U.S. Marines from III Marine Expeditionary Force have come together with other U.S. services to form JTF 505, which works in conjunction with U.S. Agency for International Development and the international community, to provide unique capabilities to assist Nepal.

Marines from multiple units under III Marine Expeditionary Force embarked onto the USNS Sacagawea. The departure is the first of multiple sticks heading to the Korean peninsula in support of MEFEX, a set of smaller exercises throughout the Republic of Korea. Available in High Definition.
