Brigadier General Hall currently serves as the Deputy Commanding General, III Marine Expeditionary Force and as the Commanding General, 3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade in Okinawa, Japan.
Brigadier General Hall enlisted in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve in 1990 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant following graduation from Georgia Tech in 1994. Upon completion of the Basic School and Infantry Officer Course, he reported to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines where he served as a rifle and weapons platoon commander. In December 1995, he participated in a Unit Deployment Program (UDP) to Okinawa, Japan. He later deployed in September 1997 with the 24th MEU (SOC), participating in Operation Desert Thunder.
First Lieutenant Hall reported to the School of Infantry (East) in May 1998 where he served as the Commanding Officer of Weapons Company, Marines Awaiting Training Company, Headquarters and Service Support Company, and Company C. He later served as the Operations Officer and Executive Officer for Infantry Training Battalion.
From July 2001 to May 2002, Captain Hall attended Amphibious Warfare School. Upon graduation, he reported to Officer Candidates School where he served as a platoon commander and tactics instructor. In August 2002, Captain Hall reported to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines as a Company Commander. During this tour, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and in support of a UDP to Okinawa. In June 2004, Captain Hall assumed command of Headquarters and Service Company.
In June 2005, Major Hall reported to Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps Manpower and Reserve Affairs for duty as the Assistant Section Head for Enlisted Retention and Career Counseling. Major Hall then reported for duty as the Executive Officer of Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 3/2 in July 2008. While serving as the BLT Executive Officer, he deployed with 22nd MEU from May-December 2009 and completed a subsequent deployment in support of Operation Unified Response in Haiti. Major Hall assumed duties as the Operations Officer for 22nd MEU in May 2010. He later deployed with 22nd MEU from March 2011 to February 2012. During this deployment, the MEU supported Operation Unified Protector in Libya and later conducted disaggregated operations across U.S. Africa and U.S. Central Command areas of operation.
From July 2012 to May 2013, Lieutenant Colonel Hall served at HQMC Plans, Policies, and Operations as the Section Head for Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF)/MEU Operations. Lieutenant Colonel Hall later served as Commanding Officer of 3d Battalion, 8th Marines from June 2013 to February 2015. During this time, the battalion deployed as the first single sourcing solution for Special Purpose MAGTF Crisis Response Africa, Black Sea Rotational Force, and Security Force Tripoli. Lieutenant Colonel Hall attended Air War College from July 2015 to June 2016. He was later assigned to U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) from July 2016 to June 2018 where he served as the Branch Head for Counter VEO Trans-regional Synchronization.
Colonel Hall commanded the 26th MEU December 2018 to August 2020 and deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of C5F and C6F. He reported in October 2020 to FMFLANT/ MARFORCOM and assumed duties as the AC/S G-3/5 and later assumed duties as the Chief of Staff in July 2022. His personal awards includes the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Navy, and Marine Corps Commendation and Achievement Medals.
