Five CH-53E Super Stallions fly into Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan, carrying Marines for a regimental air assault as part of exercise Blue Chromite 2016, Oct. 31, 2015. Blue Chromite is an amphibious exercise conducted by Marines in the ground, logistics and air combat elements of III Marine Expeditionary Force. The Super Stallions are with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 462, Marine Air Group 16, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, II Marine Expeditionary Force, currently attached to MAG 36, 1st MAW, III MEF, under the unit deployment program. The Marines aboard the aircraft are with 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II MEF, currently under the command of 4th Marines, 3rd MarDiv, III MEF, as part of the unit deployment program.
