Correctional specialists demonstrate how to take down an unruly inmate during Okinawa Prefectural Police Department’s tour through the Marine Corps Installations Pacific Brig on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 22, 2015. Before prison guards break into a prisoner’s cell, the inmate is given three chances to calm down. If the prisoner fails to comply, five guards will line up outside of the cell before charging in. Each guard is assigned to hold down either a limb or the head while they restrain the inmate. The prisoner is then put into a restraint chair for up to four hours or until composure is regained. The correctional specials are with Bravo Company, Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific.
