U.S. Marine Corps Chief Warrant Officer 3 Joshua A. Stone (left) speaks with Lt. Gen. Larry D. Nicholson Nov. 11 during a rehearsal as part of the Japan Self-Defense Force Marching Band Festival in Tokyo, Japan. Nicholson visited the Marines during their rehearsal to provide them with words of encouragement and a birthday message regarding the Marine Corps’ 240th birthday. The festival provides an opportunity for military bands from the U.S., Japan and Republic of Korea to bond through music and military culture. The festival is scheduled for Nov. 12-16 at the Nippon Budokan Arena in Tokyo, Japan. Stone, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is the officer-in-charge of the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band, III MEF. Nicholson, from Toronto, is the commanding general of III MEF.
