U.S. Marines with the 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, arrive in Darwin, Australia to begin preparation for exercise Marine Rotational Force-Darwin (MRF-D) on April 13, 2016. MRF-D was a six-month deployment of Marines into Darwin, Australia, where they conducted exercises and trained with the Australian Defence Forces, strengthening the U.S.-Australia alliance. (U. S.
