Lance Cpl. Alex Hernandez (front) and Lance Cpl. Devonte Ellis, both with 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, visit a Japanese shrine during a cultural tour at Sendai, Japan, May 24, 2016. The tour occurred during Artillery Relocation Training Program 16-1, a Japan-funded, routine training exercise that allows Marines with 3rd Bn., 12th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, based out of Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, to conduct live-fire training. Hernandez, an Austin, Tex., native, is a heavy equipment mechanic; Ellis, a New Orleans native, is an embarkation specialist.
