Lt. Gen. Lawrence D. Nicholson poses for a photo with approximately 30 Japanese students at the Japan-America Student Conference June 30, 2017, at III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters, Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan. The Japan-America Student Conference is an educational and cultural exchange program for university students. Nicholson spoke with the students to discuss the purpose of military presence in Okinawa, the Japan-American alliance, and Japan’s continuing partnership with the United States.
