U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Neal Copenhaver, data systems noncommissioned officer with Data Platoon, Communications Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3d Marine Logistics Group (MLG), monitors performance on his Marine Corps Enterprise Network computer on Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan, April 12, 2021. Copenhaver is the recipient of the Marine Corps Association and Foundation Noncommissioned Officer Award for Operational Communications Excellence, also known as the PFC Herbert A. Littleton Enlisted Communications Award. The award is presented to a noncommissioned officer who displays superior knowledge and understanding of communications and data systems employment in support of command and control. “I just did my job. I had great support, great Marines working with me, and fantastic leadership.” Copenhaver said. 3d MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III MEF’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
