Marines conduct Air Drop Exercise in the Philippine Sea

The air delivery exercise is used to improve crew chief’s accuracy by air dropping simulated supply bundles, a way to quickly resupply targets on the ground without needing a landing area. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations, the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
