Alexander Aberle, a platoon sergeant, both with Company A, 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, explain the significant capability that Company A can provide through training to combine crowd control techniques with non-lethal weapons during non-lethal weapons training at Landing Zone Wren, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 15, 2019. Capt. Jason Smith, the company commander with Headquarters and Service Company, III MHG, offers insight on Marine-Okinawan interaction at the III MEF Headquarters Group's 241st Marine Corps Birthday Ball. Distinguished guests from the local Kin Town community were invited to attend the event at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. The ball featured a Naginata sword demonstration and a Kagami Biraki ceremony, a traditional act in which a sake barrel is broken to bring good luck and blessings to those in attendance. A free concert event was held May 17 and 18 on Camp Schwab. Unlike other base festivals on Okinawa, this one's main focus was music. Lance Cpl. Wes Lucko takes us to the music for more on the story.
