Using the MV-22 Osprey, infantry Marines rapidly inserted into the Jungle Warfare Training Center, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 31, 2015, in a massive, regimental air assault during Blue Chromite 2016, which builds cohesion among elements of the Marines Air Ground Task Force. Blue Chromite is a large-scale, cost-effective on-island exercise led by 4th Marine regiment. The Marines, from Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Regiment, are currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program. MV-22 Osprey piolts with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, Marine Air Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, obtain carrier qualification in conjunction with Blue Chromite 2016, a large-scale amphibious exercise in Okinawa, Japan. Units participating in Blue Chromite benefit from naval training resources in the area while maintaining a forward-deployed posture. Also available in high definition.

Marines from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 and Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 269 executed a spider forward arming and refueling point mission in Okinawa, Japan, October 28, 2015. The FARP mission facilitates small aircraft to operate longer, resupply in a shorter time frame and provide close air support more frequently. The event was part of Blue Chromite 2016. Because Blue Chromite is an amphibious training exercise that draws primarily from III Marine Expeditionary Force's training resources in Okinawa, participating units maintain a forward-deployed posture while eliminating travel costs. VMM-262 is with Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. HMLA-269 is with MAG 36 under the Unit Deployment Program. Also available in high definition.

U.S. Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469 UH-1Y Hueys bring relief supplies to Khopachagu, Nepal, May 11. HMLA-469, or "Vengeance", has flown 54 flight hours, delivering 68,307 pounds of food and shelter supplies to the rural areas of Nepal since their arrival on May 3. The government of Nepal declared a state of emergency and requested international assistance after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck their country April 25. The U.S. military responded, bringing their aircraft to support the Nepalese government. They will continue to support Nepal as needed with the United States Agency for International Development as part of Joint Task Force 505. HMLA-469 is attached to Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Also available in high definition.

U.S. Marines and Nepalese soldiers deliver 4,000 pounds of supplies to include food, hygiene kits, and shelter from Kathmandu, Nepal to areas effected by the earthquake May 7 to support the international humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operation after the country was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. The Nepalese government requested the U.S. government’s help after the earthquake. U.S. Marines from III Marine Expeditionary Force have come together with other U.S. services to form JTF 505, which works in conjunction with U.S. Agency for International Development and the international community, to provide unique capabilities to assist Nepal.

JTF-505 works in conjunction with USAID and the international community to provide unique capabilities to assist Nepal.

U.S. and Filipino Marines conduct a regimental aerial assault into Crow Valley, Philippines, during exercise Balikatan 2015, April 19. MV-22 Tiltrotor Ospreys flew in dropping off infantry men from 4th Marine Regiment along with their Filipino counterparts into the valley to start the field training exercise Combined Vigilance. The large scale exercise in Crow Valley is a fully integrated training exercise with the Filipino and U.S. Marines working shoulder to shoulder, honing their war fighting skills and learning from each other. Exercise Balikatan is a bilateral training exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U. S. military to increase interoperability.
