Marines and sailors with Bravo Company, 3rd Medical Battalion, transport equipment for a shock trauma treatment site via landing craft air-cushion-class hovercraft in Okinawa, Japan, October 27, 2015. The event was part of Exercise Blue Chromite 2016. Because Blue Chromite is an amphibious training exercise that draws primarily from III Marine Expeditionary Force's training resources in Okinawa, participating units maintain a forward-deployed posture while eliminating travel costs. 3rd Med. Bn. is part of 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III MEF. The hovercrafts belong to Naval Beach Unit 7.

U.S. Marines with Kilo Company, Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conduct a boat raid with Combat Rubber Raiding Crafts at Kin Blue, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 7, 2020. The Marines of Kilo Company conducted small boat raids in preparation for follow-on exercises. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region. Nicholson, from Toronto, is the III Marine Expeditionary Force commanding general and the Okinawa area coordinator. Argabrite, from Norfolk, Virginia, is an automotive mechanic with III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group. Wien, from Johns Creek, Georgia, is a combat rubber raiding craft coxswain with 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I MEF and is assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit through the unit deployment program.
