U.S. Marines with Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, members of the Uruma City Police Station, and Okinawan volunteers gathered to hand out pamphlets and charms to promote a combined safe driving awareness campaign in Uruma City, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 27, 2019. Reducing driving under the influence is a priority for III Marine Expeditionary Force in order to combat drinking and driving. III MEF and Marine Corps Installations Pacific have instituted a variety of preventative programs including the “Not One Drop" campaign, outbound gate sobriety checks, and “Liberty Buddy” requirements for junior Marines.
