U.S. Marines with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron Iwakuni, Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 171, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, and 3rd Marine Logistics Group, worked alongside airmen with 9th Civil Engineer Squadron, 9th Mission Support Group, 99th Civil Engineer Squadron, 99th Mission Support Group, 316th Civil Engineer Squadron, 316th Mission Support Group, 355th Civil Engineer Squadron, 355th Mission Support Group, 35th Civil Engineer Squadron, and 35th Mission Support Group, to participate in Exercise Tanuki Bandit at Draughon Range, Aomori, Japan, June 24-28, 2024. Tanuki Bandit promotes readiness for Explosive Ordnance Disposal members in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force by training them as integrated teams for a variety of scenarios. Exercise Littoral Strike

U.S. Marines with Kilo Company, 3d Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, conduct joint exercise Littoral Strike, the culminating event for Fuji Viper 21.2 at Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji, Japan, Jan. 21-22, 2021. The exercise strengthened interoperability and challenged infantry formations, demonstrating that Marines can facilitate joint force multi-domain maneuver in support of naval operations. 3/8 is forward-deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division. Balikatan 2018 | Air Community Experience

U.S. and Philippine military aircraft community personnel participated in a variety of subject matter exchange events at Clark Air Base, Calumpang, Mabalacat City, Philippines, during Exercise Balikatan 2018, held from May 7 to 18. The training was held to further interoperability between the U.S. and the Philippines, particularly among the various aircraft community members. Exercise Balikatan, in its 34th iteration, is an annual U.S.-Philippine military training exercise focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, counterterrorism and other combined military operations.(U.S. Marine Corps video by Sgt. Cobra Gold 18: Opening Ceremony

Exercise Cobra Gold 2018 officially began with remarks from Pacific Command representative Lieutenant General Lawrence Nicholson, III Marine Expeditionary Force commanding general, U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand Ambassador Glyn Davies and General Thanchaiyan Srisuwan, Chief of Defense Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Cobra Gold 18 provides a venue for both United States and partner nations to advance interoperability and increase partner capacity in planning and executing complex and realistic multinational force and combined task force operations. A Dream to Fly: F-16 Fighter Pilot Achieves Lifelong Dream

U.S. Air Force Capt. Daniel Brom, a fighter pilot with the 13th Fighter Squadron, assigned to Misawa Air Base, Japan, knew he wanted to fly jets since he was six years old. Brom, a 28 year-old native of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, studied aviation education at South Dakota State University and commissioned into the Air Force May 5, 2012. Now, Brom and 6,000 other military members are testing future applications of combat operations and weapons capabilities in Alaska during Northern Edge 17. NE17 is Alaska’s largest and premier joint training exercise designed to practice operations, techniques and procedures as well as enhance interoperability among the services. Thousands of participants from all the services—Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Coast Guard personnel from active duty, Reserve and National Guard units—are involved.
