Jason MacDonald, an ocean safety program manager with Marine Corps Installations Pacific gives a speech to Marines with III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group as part of a water safety brief at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 7, 2022. The brief was conducted to bring awareness of the dangers of open water swimming and to provide service members with the knowledge to keep themselves safe. III MIG functions as the vanguard of III MEF, operating in the Indo-Pacific regions information environment, and supports Marine Air Ground Task Force operations with communications, intelligence, and supporting arms liaison capabilities. III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group conducts a Jungle Field Exercise March 21-25 at the Jungle Warfare Training Center, Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan. During the FEX, III MIG Marines practiced their ability to conduct distributed operations in an austere environment. JWTC provides challenging terrain that is found on many of the islands in the Indo-Pacific. Mastery of this terrain contributes to III MIG’s ability to employ multiple modes of low-signature maneuver in a jungle environment; as well as developing and deploying distributed, lethal, networked and persistent capabilities to process and close kill chains.
