Marine Corps helps Kesennuma City remember the Great East Japan Earthquake

Five years after the Great East Japan earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster, the world again turns its eyes to Northeast Japan, and the little fishing town of Kesennuma that hugs the coastline in the Tohoku region. March 11 marks the 5 year anniversary of the disaster and the start of Operation Tomodachi.

Bellamour, from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is a tactical combat casualty care instructor with the Tactical Medical Simulation Center, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Bellamour describes his experience as a first responder during the 2010 Haiti earthquake and how it influenced his decision to join the Navy.
