U.S. Marines conduct landing zone operations on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 27, 2024. The training is designed to increase Marines’ experience and proficiency with aerial inserts, as well as assault support aircraft communications and operations. The Marines are with 12th Marine Littoral Regiment, 3d Marine Division. The CH-53 Super Stallion is assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 466 and is forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 1st Marine Aircraft Wing as part of the Unit Deployment Program. Chaplains take part in Jungle Religious Ministry Course

U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force Chaplains from across the Department of Defense participate in the Jungle Religious Ministry Course (JREL) at the Jungle Warfare Training Center on Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, April 8-12, 2024. JREL teaches Chaplains basic jungle survival skills, tactical rope suspension techniques, and land navigation tactics to enhance religious ministry skills in harsh jungle environments.
