Combat engineers with 1st Platoon, Bravo Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, participated in tactical marksmanship courses at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 25, 2018. The Marines completed Combat Marksmanship Program Tables 5 and 6, as well as a ballistic breaching course with M1014 shotguns and a machine gun course with M240B and M249 Squad Automatic Weapons to enhance their warfighting abilities on the battlefield. Combat engineers often augment infantry units during exercises and deployments, which requires tactical proficiency with multiple weapons systems in various environments. Marines competed in 3rd Marine Division's annual squad competition among rifle squads and crew-served weapons units on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. The competition was held from Nov. 28 - Dec. 2, 2016, in order to evaluate standards-based infantry training and recognize proficiency in infantry and crew-served weapons skills. 12 different squads representing the major subordinate elements within 3rd Marine Division competed, as well as guests from 2nd Marine Division. Marines and sailors from Combat Logistics Regiments 35 and 37 participated in Fuji Warrior, a field training exercise from June 6th to June 20th at Camp Fuji. One of the objectives for the exercise was to get the service members out of the office and behind crew-served machine guns. Available in high definition.

As part of the pre-deployment training of Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Marines from across the spectrum of military occupational specialties trained in the operation of the M240G machine gun and M249 squad automatic weapon systems. Operating on the ground as well as from High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle turrets, 34 CLB-31 Marines honed their machine-gunning skills to remain ready for any contingency.
