U.S. Marines with Kilo Company, Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conduct a boat raid with Combat Rubber Raiding Crafts at Kin Blue, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 7, 2020. The Marines of Kilo Company conducted small boat raids in preparation for follow-on exercises. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region. Lt. Gen. Lawrence D. Nicholson , Cpl. Russell Argabrite and Cpl. Kent Wien talk about the dedication and training required to keep the Marine Corps a force in readiness on Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 24, 2017. Nicholson, from Toronto, is the III Marine Expeditionary Force commanding general and the Okinawa area coordinator. Argabrite, from Norfolk, Virginia, is an automotive mechanic with III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group. Wien, from Johns Creek, Georgia, is a combat rubber raiding craft coxswain with 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I MEF and is assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit through the unit deployment program.

Cpl. Nicholas Lynch, from St. Louis, Missouri, takes you through the berthing area of Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment aboard USS Green Bay (LPD 20) during exercise Blue Chromite 2017. Blue Chromite is a U.S.–only exercise which strengthens the Navy-Marine Corps expeditionary, amphibious rapid-response capabilities based in Okinawa and the greater Indo-Asia-Pacific region. The Marines are forward deployed from Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, to 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force based in Okinawa, Japan.

During Blue Chromite U.S. Marines and Sailors trained and lived together on the USS Green Bay (LPD 20) embracing the "Ship Life." Blue Chromite is a U.S.–only exercise which strengthens the Navy-Marine Corps expeditionary, amphibious rapid-response capabilities based in Okinawa and the greater Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

U.S. Marines instruct on fundamentals of Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC) to Royal Cambodian Navy Sailors at Ream Naval Base, Sihanoukville, Cambodia, Nov. 1. Training between U.S. and Cambodian service members took place during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 16. CARAT 2016 is a nine-country, bilateral exercise series between the United States and Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Timor-Leste. This phase of CARAT focuses on partnerships between the forces of the US and Cambodia, and Brunei. SME: Cpl.
