Marines from Kaneohe, Hawaii, identify the benefits of forward deployed training unique to Okinawa, Japan. Marines from various infantry battalions deploy to Okinawa on a six-month rotation, conducting various exercises and operations with partner nations across the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. The Marines are assigned to 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
