A Force Reconnaissance platoon commander discusses his experiences and the opportunities he’s had moving from the infantry to a reconnaissance battalion. Marines jumped over Hokkaido, Japan, for the first time, Aug. 19, 2017 during Northern Viper 17. Northern Viper is a combined-joint exercise held to enhance regional cooperation between participating nations to collectively deter security threats.
