U.S. Marines with 3d Battalion, 3d Marines, establish a coastal defense after conducting an air assault on Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan, April 27, 2021. 3/3 increased their proficiency in distributed operations, while demonstrating their ability to quickly secure and defend key maritime terrain in the Indo-Pacific region. 3/3 is currently attached to 4th Marines, 3d Marine Division under the Unit Deployment Program.
