Sergeant Major Jose A. Beltran

            Sergeant Major Beltran was born on 04 September 1974 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 22 February 1999 and attended Recruit Training at MCRD Parris Island, SC. Sergeant Major Beltran graduated top 10% and earned a meritorious promotion to Private First Class. Upon completion, he received training at Marine Combat Training School (MCT) Camp Geiger, NC. Following MCT, he reported to Supply Basic Warehousing School, Camp Johnson, NC.

            In August 1999, Sergeant Major Beltran reported to 1st Force Service Support Group (FSSG), Supply Bn, Supply Co, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as Shipping and Receiving Clerk. In January 2001, Sergeant Major Beltran received orders to Marine Service Support Group-13, 13th MEU, Camp Pendleton, Ca. In May 2001 Sergeant Major Beltran was promoted to Corporal and earned the billet of Assistant Warehouse Chief. On 01 December 2001 he deployed with the 13th MUE and participated in Operation Enduring Freedom in support of Operation Anaconda, Afghanistan.

            In June 2002, Sergeant Major Beltran received orders to Medical Logistics Company (MedLog Co), Supply Bn, 1st FSSG, Camp Pendleton, Ca. While assigned to MedLog Co, Sergeant Major Beltran held the billet of the Assistant Warehouse Chief. On November 2002 Sergeant Major Beltran was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In October 2003 he received orders to Combat Service Support Battalion-12 (CSSB-12), MedLog Co. Detachment, Supply Bn, I MEF and In January 2003 Sergeant Major Beltran deployed to Kuwait. In March 2003 he deployed from Kuwait into Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). In September 2003 Sergeant Major Beltran was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps.

            In March 2004, Sergeant Major Beltran Re-Enlisted into the Marine Corps and was assigned to Marine Recruiting Sub-Station (RSS) Kissimmee, FL, RS Orlando. In September 2004, he received orders and reported to Military Police School in Ft Leonard Wood, Mo. Upon Graduation he received orders to 1st FSSG, Military Police Co., Camp Pendleton, Ca. While assigned with MP Co. he held the billet of Squad Leader/Vehicle Commander. In September 2005 Sergeant Major Beltran deployed with MP Company to Camp Al Asad, Iraq in support of OIF 04-05 and 06-07. Upon returning from deployment, Sergeant Major Beltran received orders to Drill Instructor School, MCRD, San Diego.

            In October 2006, Sergeant Major Beltran reported to Drill Instructor School, S.D. On 20 December 2006 Sergeant Major Beltran graduated DI School and received orders to Alpha Co., 1st Recruit Bn, Recruit Training Regiment (RTR). In February 2007 Sergeant Major Beltran was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Sergeant Major Beltran completed 8 training cycles which he served as a Drill Instructor (DI), Senior Drill Instructor (SDI) and Series Chief Drill Instructor (CDI). Sergeant Major Beltran then received orders to the Academic Instructor Platoon (AIP) in which he taught recruits on Marine Corps History, First aid, Customs and Courtesies and General Studies.

            In Jan 2009 Sergeant Major Beltran received Orders to Okinawa, Japan Marine Corps Base Camp Butler. Sergeant Major Beltran was assigned to the Provost Marshal’s Office (PMO) as the Watch Commander for Military Police District North. In May 2010 Sergeant Major Beltran was promoted to the billet of SNCOIC of District North in Camp Hansen. On 02 May 2011 Sergeant Major Beltran was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. On January 2012 Sergeant Major Beltran received PCA orders to Bravo Co, III Law Enforcement BN, III MHG, III MEF, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. Sergeant Major Beltran held the billet of the Company GySgt and First Sgt. On December 2012, Sergeant Major Beltran received orders to Marine Forces Reserve (MarForRes), New Orleans, LA as the Provost Sergeant. In May 2015 Sergeant Major was promoted to First Sergeant.

           In June 2015 Sergeant Major Beltran executed his orders to Bravo Company, 4th Amphibious Assault Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Jacksonville, Florida where he served as the Inspector–Instructor First Sergeant. In May 2018, Sergeant Major Beltran executed orders to 7th Communications Bn, III MIG, III MEF, Okinawa, Japan where he served as the Service Company First Sergeant.

           In February 2019 Sergeant Major Beltran was promoted to his current rank. In March 2019, Sergeant Major Beltran executed orders to 3d Transportation Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3D Marine Logistics Group where he served as the Battalion Sergeant Major.

           In December 2019 Sergeant Major Beltran received orders to 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO), Camp Hansen, Okinawa Japan. Sergeant Major Beltran assumed his current duties as the 5TH ANGLICO Sargent Major.

            Sergeant Major Beltran personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3), Outstanding Volunteer Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6), and the Drill Instructor Ribbon. Sergeant Major Beltran is married to Johanna Beltran of Brooklyn, NY. They have three Children: Taisha N. Beltran, Jose A. Beltran JR. and Isaiah J. Beltran.
