1stSgt Versayn G. Reynaga

First Sergeant Reynaga was born in Etzatlan Jalisco, Mexico March 9, 1980 and graduated from Glenn’s Ferry High School in 1999.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps out of Twin falls, Idaho.  On April 10, 2000 he attended Recruit Training at MCRD west, where he was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class.  July 2000 First Sergeant Reynaga reported to Marine Combat Training Battalion West.  After graduating Marine Combat Training he reported to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri Motor Transportation School MOS training. 

 

In October 2000 First Sergeant Reynaga was transferred to Camp Pendleton and assigned to Transportation Support Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group as a (3533) Logistic Vehicle System Operator.  In January 2001, First Sergeant Reynaga was promoted to Lance Corporal.  In February 2001 he was re-assigned to MEU Service Support Group 13, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Pendleton, California. While serving with MSSG-13 as an LVS Operator, First Sergeant Reynaga was promoted to Corporal and was deployed in direct support of Operation Enduring Freedom aboard the USS Pearl Harbor.

 

First Sergeant Reynaga was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in November 2002.  In August 2003 he was again deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom aboard the USS Peleliu serving in  various billets to include Line NCO and Platoon Sergeant.  June 2004 he was re-assigned to Headquarters Company Combat Service Support Group-11, 1st FSSG, Camp Pendleton serving as the Platoon Sergeant.

 

After completing MCIC in November 2004, he was then assigned to Hotel Company, Marine Combat Training Battalion as a Combat Instructor.  During his time as a Combat Instructor with SOI West First Sergeant Reynaga was then named Instructor of the Quarter.  In July 2007 First Sergeant Reynaga was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant. 

 

First Sergeant Reynaga received orders to  the 1st Marine Logistics Group where he was assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment-1 as the S-3 Training Chief and MTU Chief.  In March 2008 First Sergeant Reynaga received orders to deploy with the Combat Logistics Battalion-13 with the 13th MEU, where he served as the Motor Transportation Chief. 

 

In January 2010 First Sergeant Reynaga reported to CLR-3, where he served as the Truck Master for General Support Motor Transportation Company.  On March 21, 2011 First Sergeant Reynaga was attached to JTF505 as a Team leader for Evacuation Control Center team 3 at Atsugi, Japan.  

 

First Sergeant Reynaga served as the Company First Sergeant for Support Company, CLB-4.  On January 2012 First Sergeant Reynaga was then deployed to Afghanistan as a logistics Advisor to the Afghanistan Army on board Helmand Province.  He was then promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in August 2012.    

 

November 2012 First Sergeant Reynaga was then reassigned to serve with Headquarters Battalion, Truck Company Bravo he served as the Platoon Sergeant.  In March 2013 First Sergeant Reynaga deployed to Darwin, Australia with the Marine Rotational Force-Darwin.  Where he served as the Forward Coordination Element S-4 Chief.  In March 2015 First Sergeant then moved over to the assume the Company Gunnery Sergeant Billet for Truck Company.  On December 2015 First Sergeant Reynaga was then selected his current rank of First Sergeant. 

 

May 2016 First Sergeant Reynaga was Frocked to his current rank and was then assigned to serve with 7th Communication Battalion, where he currently serves as the Company First Sergeant for Alpha Company.

 

First Sergeant Reynagas’ personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal 3 gold stars, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal 5 bronze stars, Humanitarian Assistance Medal, Marine Corps Combat Instructor Ribbon, Meritorious Mast x4, Certificate of Commendation x2, Certificate of Appreciation.
