In celebration of Independence Day, U.S. Marine Corps Sgt Jessica Wright sings the Star Spangled Banner at Camp Courtney Okinawa, Japan. The video shows footage of Marines with 3rd Marine Division conducting training in IndoPacific areas. The training conducted by 3rd Marine Division ensures Marines are constantly ready to respond to any aggression or crisis anywhere in the IndoPacific region. U.S. Marine Gunner Chief Warrant Officer 5 Craig Marshall explains what it means to be a Marine Gunner. Marshall is the 3d Marine Division Gunner in Okinawa, Japan. Marine Gunners are non-technical chief warrant officers who are weapons specialists and knowledgeable in the tactical employment of all infantry weapons in the Marine Corps arsenal. The Marine Corps' revised table two of the marksmanship program, October 2016, to better prepare Marines to engage the enemy in a combat environment. Christopher Pelkey, a native of Concord, N.C., and also a machine gunner attached to 3rd MLG, III MEF, to assemble the M2 Browning .50 Caliber Rifle on Dec. 9, 2016 at Ie Shima Island in Okinawa, Japan. Marines competed in 3rd Marine Division's annual squad competition among rifle squads and crew-served weapons units on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. The competition was held from Nov. 28 - Dec. 2, 2016, in order to evaluate standards-based infantry training and recognize proficiency in infantry and crew-served weapons skills. 12 different squads representing the major subordinate elements within 3rd Marine Division competed, as well as guests from 2nd Marine Division.
