U.S. and Philippine Marines simulate room-clearing drills on a beach during KAMANDAG at Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim, Ternate, Philippines, Oct. 2, 2017. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Maddirigma Ng Gagat,” which translates to "Cooperation of Warriors of the Sea." This bilateral training exercise increases the ability of the United States and the Philippines to rapidly respond during real world terrorist or humanitarian crises.
