More Information
The U.S. Marine Corps conducted two concurrent large-scale bilateral exercises with key allies across the first island chain from northern Japan through the Philippines, Oct. 1-14. More than 5,500 personnel participated in Resolute Dragon 22 in Hokkaido, Japan and in KAMANDAG 6 across Luzon, Batanes, and Palawan in the Philippines. Members of the U.S. Marine Corps, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, the Philippine Marine Corps, and the Republic of Korea Marine Corps took part in the exercises. KAMANDAG and Resolute Dragon strengthen combined interoperability, readiness, and capabilities. These exercises demonstrate the cooperation and resolve of multiple nations, which are critical to preserving regional peace and stability. (U.S. Marine Corps video edited by Staff Sgt. Albert Carls, Sgt. Levi J. Guerra, and Lance Cpl. Israel Sheber)
