Captain Kevin M. Sullivan

Captain Sullivan was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA.  He joined the Navy on December 8th, 2003 and attended recruit training at RTC, Great Lakes, Illinois.  He graduated on February 14, 2004 as a Seaman Apprentice.  After completing recruit training, he was assigned to Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois from February 2004 until May 2004 for “A” School as a student at the Basic Hospital Corpsman School.  Upon graduating and incurring the rate hospitalman in June 2004, Hospitalman Apprentice Sullivan reported to Camp Lejeune for Field Medical School.  In September 2004, he reported for duty to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.  He was promoted to Hospitalman on November 1, 2004.


While assigned to NNMC Bethesda, he served multiple billets to include General Surgery staff member, Command Fitness Coordinator, and command reception committee for VIP patients.    HN Sullivan was awarded Bluejacket of the Quarter in March 2004.  He was meritoriously promoted to HM3 on April 1, 2005.  He deployed on the USNS Comfort on September 2, 2005 to assist in Gulf Coast recovery efforts after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.  Upon completing this deployment on October 13, 2005, he was awarded the Humanitarianism Award for his participation in the Joint Task Force.


Upon earning an appointment to the United Sates Naval Academy, HM3 Sullivan reported to the academy as a Midshipman, Class of 2010 on June 24, 2006.  From June 2006 through May 2010, Midshipman Sullivan completed the prescribed course of academic study, participated in club lacrosse, and completed multiple fleet training exercises spanning the entire spectrum of Navy and Marine Corps forces.   On May 28, 2010 he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Ocean Engineering and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.


Second Lieutenant Sullivan reported to The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia on July 1, 2010 as a student in Fox Company Basic Officers Course 6-10.  He graduated from the Basic Officers Course in January 2011 with follow on assignment to the Ground Supply Officers School.  In March 2011, Second Lieutenant Sullivan reported to Ground Supply Officers School as a student in Class 2-11.  He graduated in June 2011.


In July 2011, Second Lieutenant Sullivan reported to 3d Supply Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 35, 3D Marine Logistics Group in Okinawa, Japan.  Upon arrival, he was assigned as the battalion S-4 OIC.  Shortly after his arrival, he served as the  S-4 officer for the Logistics Combat Element during  PHIBLEX 12.  In January 2012, Second Lieutenant Sullivan completed the Maritime Prepositioning Staff Planners Course.  In March 2012, Second Lieutenant Sullivan served as the S-4 OIC for the Landing Force Support Party in support of FREEDOM BANNER 12 in the Republic of Korea, acquiring the Korean Defense Medal.  Shortly after, he was promoted to First Lieutenant on May 28, 2012.


In April 2013, First Lieutenant Sullivan served multiple billets as the Arrival and Assembly Operations Element Responsible Officer for the Logistics Combat Element as well as the S-4 OIC for the Logistics Combat Element during BALIKATAN 13 in the Philippines.  From June 2013 until June 2014, First Lieutenant Sullivan was assigned as the Training and Operations Officer for 3d Supply Battalion.


In June 2014, First Lieutenant Sullivan reported to Headquarters Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, serving as the Future Operations Officer.  He was promoted to Captain on December 1, 2014.  In April 2014, Captain Sullivan participated in BALIKATAN 14 in the Republic of the Philippines, planning and coordinating the deployment of two Combat Logistics Battalions in support of the training exercise.


In July 2015, Captain Sullivan reported to Headquarters Company, 7th Communication Battalion, III MEF Headquarters Group where he served as the Supply Officer.  While assigned to this billet, he prepared and executed a FSMAO inspection in October 2015. 


In June 2016, he reported to Service Company, 7th Communication Battalion where he currently serves as Executive Officer.


Captain Sullivan is married to his wife, Satomi, and they have two children.
