7th Communication Battalion will establish, maintain, and defend communication networks and services simultaneously for Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) command elements (CE), Marine component headquarters, and/or a Combined/Joint Task Force headquarters (C/JTF HQ) in order to facilitate a commander's ability to command and control forces.
OKINAWA, Japan- U.S. Space Force Maj. Ben Pearce and Capt. Hannah Garcia-Park, both with Mission Delta-11 (Space Ranges, Aggressors, Tactics and Exercises), conducted tactical level space operations for the first time in history June 9, 2025, at III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF), Okinawa, Japan. The Guardians injected critical tactical subject matter expertise directly supporting III MEF's mission, while also delivering realistic and challenging space aggressor training enhancing the lethality and combat power of the entire joint force.

MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII, Hawaii – Gunnery Sergeant Ryan M. Schwartz, company gunnery sergeant of Communications company, 3d Marine Littoral Regiment, 3d Marine Division, was awarded the United States Marine Corps Sergeant Harry D. Myers Award for his significant contribution to the combat readiness of 3d MLR.
BATANES ISLANDS, Philippines – Strategically positioned on an island in the Luzon Strait, U.S. Marines with 3d Littoral Combat Team, 3d Marine Littoral Regiment, 3d Marine Division, established a Fires Expeditionary Advanced Base (EAB) with the Navy-Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS) and conducted simulated maritime interdiction as a part of Exercise KAMANDAG 9, June 1, 2025. The event was tied to a larger Maritime Key Terrain Security Operation (MKTSO), during which U.S. Marines with 3d LCT and Philippine Marines with Marine Battalion Landing Team 10 rehearsed securing and defending key maritime terrain in the advancement of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
Stephanie Mafrici of Rotterdam, New York commissioned into the Marine Corps through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2007. Upon completing The Basic School and Basic Communications Officer Course, she began her career as a Communications Officer. Her fleet assignments include Platoon Commander, Company Operations Officer, and Company Executive Officer, Communications Company, 2d Marine Logistics Group, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM 9 to Al-Taqaddum, Iraq. She also served as Company Commander, Operations Officer, and Executive Officer, Marine Wing Communications Squadron 18 (MWCS-18), Okinawa, Japan. Her supporting establishment assignments include duties as Warfighting Instructor, Staff Platoon Commander (Company E and Company D), and S-6, The Basic School. She has also served as a Planner for Deputy Commandant, Information and Operations Officer for the Vandegrift Team. Her most recent assignment was Assistant Chief of Staff G-6 for Training and Education Command. Lieutenant Colonel Mafrici is a graduate of Advanced Communications Officer Course, US Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School, Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course, US Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and the US Secretary of Defense Strategic Thinkers Program at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
