Correctional specialists demonstrate how to take down an unruly inmate during Okinawa Prefectural Police Department’s tour through the Marine Corps Installations Pacific Brig on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 22, 2015. Before prison guards break into a prisoner’s cell, the inmate is given three chances to calm down. If the prisoner fails to comply, five guards will line up outside of the cell before charging in. Each guard is assigned to hold down either a limb or the head while they restrain the inmate. The prisoner is then put into a restraint chair for up to four hours or until composure is regained. The Marines were conducting humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in support of Joint Task Force 505, during Operation Sahayogi Haat when their aircraft went down. This was the first year a Halloween event was held on base for the members of the Okinawa community. There was food, candy and face painting at the event.
